Meet the Doctors
Dr. Reno Alessio is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist that specializes in cataract removal. He graduated cum laude from Georgetown University in 1995 while starring on the varsity baseball team. Dr. Alessio graduated from the Medical College of Ohio in 2000 and completed his internship at Akron General Medical Center. He fulfilled his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Rochester Eye Institute in Rochester, New York.
Cataract Surgery: Dr. Alessio offers a personalized approach to cataract surgery while utilizing the latest technology and techniques. From the type of anesthesia to the style of intraocular lens, Dr. Alessio will customize these important decisions with you. Personal: Born and raised in Bath, Ohio, Dr. Alessio is the youngest of six children. He graduated from Walsh Jesuit High School in 1991. He is an avid Ohio sports fan. He enjoys spending the majority of his free time with his wife and five children.
Dr. Chelsey Clemans is a licensed optometrist specializing in ocular disease and contact lenses, as well as primary eye care for adults and children. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2005 with degrees in Biology and Chemistry. During her time at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, she also worked as an optician for a local optometrist.
Following her graduation, Dr. Clemans continued her professional education at the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. She graduated magna cum laude in 2009 with a Doctor of Optometry degree. During this time, Dr. Clemans also completed a rotation at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee where she focused on ocular disease management. Upon graduation from optometry school, her family brought her to the Cleveland, Ohio area where she has worked in retail and private practice before joining Dr. Alessio.
Dr. Clemans holds memberships with the Ohio Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association.
Dr. Clemans grew up in rural Nebraska and is married with one child. In her spare time she enjoys running, biking, traveling and spending time with her family and dog. She has completed two half-marathons in the Cleveland area.
